Privacy Policy
Website, Customer, Payment, and Communications Privacy Notice
This Privacy Policy explains how Captain Joe LLC ("Captain Joe," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information in connection with our websites, communications, products, services, brands, assumed names, operating divisions, and any protected series that expressly adopts this Policy. A service-specific notice or agreement may supplement this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information reasonably necessary to operate the business, provide requested services, communicate with customers, process transactions, maintain records, prevent fraud, and comply with law. Depending on the service, this may include:
- Contact and identity information, such as name, business name, mailing or service address, email address, and telephone number.
- Transaction and service information, such as estimates, work orders, invoices, purchases, service history, equipment or vehicle information, support requests, and communications.
- Website and technical information, such as IP address, browser/device information, referring pages, logs, cookies, and similar technical data when our websites or service providers collect it.
- Communications information, including email, telephone, voicemail, and SMS/text-message records when you communicate with us.
- Payment-related information supplied to payment processors. Captain Joe LLC currently uses PayPal for online and card-present payment processing. We do not intend to store full payment-card numbers or card security codes on our own systems.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide, schedule, deliver, bill for, support, and improve products and services.
- Prepare estimates, work orders, invoices, account records, and other business documentation.
- Authenticate transactions, reduce fraud, protect customers and systems, and enforce agreements.
- Respond to inquiries and send service-related notices, appointment information, receipts, account messages, and other requested communications.
- Send marketing communications only when permitted by applicable law and the recipient has not opted out.
- Comply with tax, accounting, legal, regulatory, insurance, recordkeeping, and dispute-resolution obligations.
3. Payments and Third-Party Providers
Payment transactions may be processed by PayPal or another disclosed payment provider. Payment processors, hosting providers, communications providers, analytics providers, professional advisers, and other vendors may receive information only as reasonably necessary to perform services for us, comply with law, prevent fraud, or protect rights and property. Their handling of information may also be governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
4. SMS/Text Messages and Telephone Communications
If you provide a telephone number and consent to receive text messages where consent is required, Captain Joe LLC may send messages concerning inquiries, scheduling, service status, account matters, transactions, support, or marketing consistent with the consent obtained. Consent to marketing text messages is not a condition of purchasing goods or services unless expressly permitted by law.
You may opt out of automated or marketing text messages by replying STOP, QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE, or by using another reasonable method that clearly communicates your request. HELP may be used to request assistance when supported. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. We will honor legally effective revocation and opt-out requests as required by applicable law.
We do not sell or rent SMS consent or telephone numbers for third-party marketing. We do not share SMS opt-in consent with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may share information with vendors that help us deliver communications on our behalf, subject to appropriate restrictions.
5. Cookies and Website Technologies
Our websites may use cookies, server logs, and similar technologies needed for security, functionality, preferences, analytics, or fraud prevention. Browser controls may permit you to block or delete cookies; doing so may affect site functionality. We will not claim to use a particular advertising or analytics technology unless it is actually deployed.
6. Disclosure of Information
We may disclose information to service providers; professional advisers; insurers; payment and communications providers; governmental or regulatory authorities when legally required; parties involved in a business transfer; and other persons when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, property, systems, customers, or the public. We do not sell personal information as part of our ordinary business model.
7. Data Security and Retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we maintain. No transmission or storage system is completely secure. We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including service, warranty, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, legal, insurance, and dispute-resolution needs, and then dispose of it using reasonable measures.
8. Florida Data Security
Captain Joe LLC will handle Florida customer records and security incidents in accordance with applicable Florida law, including applicable requirements concerning protection of personal information and breach notification. Nothing in this Policy limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
9. Children
Our general commercial websites and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13 without legally required authorization. Individual programs may impose a higher minimum age or require a parent or guardian agreement.
10. Geographic Availability and International Visitors
Our services are principally offered from the United States and may be unavailable in particular jurisdictions. Access to a website from another country does not mean that we offer services in that country. Where a law outside the United States applies to a particular transaction or data-processing activity, we will address that obligation as applicable; this Policy does not represent that every Captain Joe LLC service is offered worldwide.
11. Your Choices and Requests
You may request correction or deletion of information, opt out of marketing communications, or make another privacy request by contacting us. We may need to verify identity, retain information required by law or legitimate business needs, or deny a request where applicable law permits. Rights under a particular privacy statute apply only when that statute applies to Captain Joe LLC and the request.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy as our operations, services, technology, or legal obligations change. The current version will be posted with its effective date. Material changes will be communicated when required by law.
